The Sultan is Talbots Block’s flagship wine. First and foremost—it gets our best, most sumptuous fruit. Then, after vinification and maturation in oak, only the very best barrels of the processed wine are selected for bottling. Every vintage of The Sultan stands out for rich, powerfully concentrated dark fruit flavour, silky textural mouthfeel, and soft smooth finish.
The 2017 vintage spent 18 months maturing in French and American oak barrels (35% new French). It’s unmistakably true to the classic Sultan characteristics, but is distinguished by its rich, luscious blackcurrant notes. While you could safely cellar for 15 years or more—why not simply enjoy its pleasures now.
