Whether we call it Spring or Sprinter doesn’t really matter — the important thing is that it offers great conditions for Shiraz drinking, both indoors and out.

The Spring growth phase has begun at Talbots Block. Based on Jimmy’s expert advice — he’s always on the money — we have slashed off the mid row cover crop; and budburst is in full cry too. For the next couple of months we will focus on establishing a strong healthy vine canopy and good fruit set, ahead of the ripening phase early in the New Year. It’s been a much drier than average winter, and the outlook is for that to continue through the growing season — so we are expecting to see lighter fruit yields when it comes to harvest in the autumn. We’ll just have to deal with the conditions— but as always at Talbots Block our priority is to grow the absolute best quality fruit that we possibly can.
